The Agonist

Five on a Terror

1.

It is
now—
it is a
gray lunch’s wend—
Believe me then—
I’m more I’d—

                                  blend—

2.

It’s you my no
my ah
my never of breath
my speech my crumb
my heft my stop
my la—

3.

You friend—you heat—
how
endless be the balance tho
we offer all fat
or ask every
vagary to mend—

4.

Herz—
words burn me tonight
in my still stupid shade—
Unstaid awe—be silent—speak
only with the blood-eyed fade—

5.

Or
pass—passing thing—
pass like the years
once ardent and now gone
but for the pulver beyond
that I I I
that ga ga ga
that caesura too earthen
whence we come—

Allow

Churning—violent—
   relent—relent—

Blooded horizon,
   allow our breath,
      foregone and defiant,
          to forget, to forget.

   Sterling—quiet—
evanesce—evanesce—

For this Bewildered Attendance

For this bewildered attendance
vowing undertones
grasping upon vastation
in a mottled plumage home.

Hard to stave a blazon.
Hard to stitch a cloak.

Only When

If we mean
     how we live
we are ready then
           to [ ]—

……………………………

                  why
……………………………

          Brother it is
            only when
        every moment
           oozes crime
        our blood washes
               any sky—

Earthen

Light.
Earth.

Sweat.
Sleep.

See.
Pledge.
Hear.
Breathe.

Breath.
Blood.
Hate.
Heat.

Rouse yourself.
Blink.
Douse yourself.
Weep.

Trawled

You must be something pledged
who imbibe the end in the symmetry.

How possible to be trawled:
this day floods you with hook and home.
